Winter has come, let’s not be glum!

Johannesburg Trunkshow!

So officially winter has arrived, well in fact that’s not necessarily true at all. Here in Cape Town we’ve had the first whiff of it – grey skies and chilled temps and a few lashes of raindrops. I suppose that hardly makes a winter but it does make an autumn. SO in keeping with this I decided to break out the winter shades of nail polish for the tootsies, the new Woolworths metallic navy sample that I got with my latest South African Elle… Anyways, that’s an entire different story and the jury’s still out on that one!

However, the point is rather than get depressed about the impending weather I decided to get happy about the good stuff – like the opportunity to get some really nice warm winter coats out and my winter boots and scarves and pashminas, yay! Or the fact that I shall soon be the proud owner of my sixth bag of the month courtesy that lovely Miss Deborah Polonsky of Iracema (it’s tooo delicious for words honestly – stone and enormous and all Mine, Precious!)…. Which leads me very neatly on to my next point which is:

The above Johannesburg Trunkshow invite in which there will be “a few of my favourite things” for “when the dogs bite, when the bees sting, when I’m feeling sad” [In the words of Julie Andrews from the Sound Of Music for those of you too young to remember that little reference]… And one of those favourite things is of course the Iracema boutique I have to ration myself on that little shop or I’d have to fashion a home out of my bags and the odd frock because I certainly wouldn’t be able to pay rent… You really do want to take home everything you lay your fingers on! And then there’s Stefania Morland (also gorgeous and adore her fabric sensibility and wearability) and the Capsule Collection accessories which I’ve mentioned on this blog not less than a month ago – LUVER-LY!

I’m a bit aggrieved that my trip to Johannesburg means I’ll just miss the Trunkshow :( – I’m there from the 5th till the 11th of April! But if you live in Johannesburg then there is most definitely no reason for you not to go along to this Trunkshow and to celebrate the start of a new season. I have.
